Where the water lands

Downspouts in Palm Beach Gardens, FL

Placed and sized so roof water leaves the house, the walls and the walkways alone.

The gutter collects the water. The downspout decides where it goes, and that is where a lot of gutter jobs go wrong. Too few outlets and the gutter overflows in a downpour. One that empties beside the front door makes a puddle right where people walk. One that dumps against a stucco wall stains it and keeps the base of the wall wet.

So at the estimate we look at the roof, count the square footage draining to each run and walk the ground below. Where should the water go? Out to the lawn, away from the lanai, clear of the A/C pad and the paver driveway. Then the downspouts get placed to make that happen.

What we plan for

  • Enough outlets for the roof area above each run
  • Drops away from entries, walkways and pool decks
  • Elbows and extensions to carry water out to the lawn
  • Colors matched to the gutter or to the wall
  • Straps that hold tight in Florida wind

Fixing downspouts you already have

Crushed by a mower, pulled loose in a storm, leaking at the seams or simply emptying in the wrong place: existing downspouts can be re-routed, re-strapped or replaced without redoing the gutters above them.

Downspouts that disappear

A downspout tucked into an inside corner, painted the color of the wall, is almost invisible from the street. On homes where looks matter, we plan the drops around the architecture so they follow columns and corners.

Jim and his team installed gutters on the side of our house, and took the time to come out and quote us beforehand. He reviewed where the water flow would go and was even was able to match the off-white color we have on the trim of our house perfectly. They were fast and efficient and did an amazing job. No mess, very professional. Would highly recommend! The gutters look like they have always been there.

FAQ

Questions about downspouts

Something else on your mind? Call (561) 255-1634.

How many downspouts does my house need?

It depends on the roof area draining to each gutter and the length of the run. We work it out at the free estimate instead of guessing.

Can you move a downspout that empties in a bad spot?

Yes. Moving or extending a downspout is a common, quick fix.

Do downspouts come in colors?

Yes, the same range as the gutters, so they can match the gutter or blend into the wall.
